more easter pictures

don't be too sick of our easter pictures. i'm not. and this is only one day a year i can take pictures like this and lots turn out good. easter afternoon we went to grandma/grandpa johnson's house for the yummiest easter dinner ever. not kidding. who else can have smoked prime rib on easter? ham don't hold nothing to that! i think serving prime rib on holiday's is ken's parents way of keeping us from moving away from arizona. why would we want to miss out of such wonderful tasty food. but, as ken would say, someday we'll be rich enough to own the fastest airplane in the world and we can fly home to holiday dinners faster than we could drive now. but if that was the case, couldn't we make our own prime rib?

ellie was more interested in climbing rocks than in collecting easter eggs. granted, she did better this time around, but after one minute, she was done.

otho was fast and fierce in his egg collection. he filled two baskets full of eggs before i could blink. and then he spent the rest of the day opening eggs to see what he had collected...money, toy bugs, and lots and lots of candy.

the lighting was just right for such a great picture of abe, framed by the trees on either side.

i have way too many ellie and mommy pictures, but she makes me look so much better. she is just a doll, and i never knew how wonderful a little girl could be. granted, she did throw up 4 times on the car ride home, and i can't seem to rid myself of her throw-up smell yet. good thing she's cute, because she has already been quickly forgiven.

and what's easter without honest to goodness live chickens. lynn bought these earlier this year, and they are growing fast. the boys love chasing them around, catching their chickens. lynn has 8 chicks and a peacock. what a roost! i bet her house, at times, is wilder than mine. no, i doubt it. my boys can act like 5 wild birds a piece when they're going crazy!

ellie and rory, only 3 days apart, looked so cute in dresses with matching colors.

they are such beautiful girls. we'd better keep our eyes peeled for no good boys when they grow up! good thing they have older brothers to watch out for them.

i love this pensive look.

as easter draws to a close, with a house filled with half-opened eggs and plastic grass, i can't help but thinking about my wonderful family...i love them so so much. i never knew having kids could be so...what's the word...everything. i am so grateful for easter because it reminds me about christ and his resurrection, without which, we could never be together as a family, forever! i am so so grateful for the knowledge that this life is not over when we die, but we can continue to live on. i am happy that we will have our bodies for eternity, not just for this short span of time. i am grateful for the savior and his real atonement, without which we could not repent of our sins and return to heaven to be with him and our father in heaven again.
