happy birthday ken (a month late)

so what if ken's birthday was april 3 and it's taken me almost a month to post a few pictures from it? i am still a loving wife, right? will he even notice? probably not.

my wonderful husband turned 29 this year, one year shy of the big 3-0. but, if you ask him, he'll tell you he is an "old man." really, ken's just a big kid, and we love him so much because of that.

a family tradition, from my mom, is to make gobs of pies on the head-of-the-house's birthday. this works out great since ken LOVES pie. this year i made him 2 apple, 2 banana cream, 2 chocolate, and one oreo pie. yes, friends, that is 7 pies. we invited some of ken's family over for pie that night, although ken was reluctant to share. and yes, sad to say, they were gone within a few days.


and a picture of the two of us (although i absolutely hate it, after spending all day making 7 pies, how else do you expect me to look? not fabulous, no sirree. i don't care what dr. laura says, i am allowed to look like a slob after slaving away all day - as you bookclub friends of mine might understand).
