summer swimming

we have had the best summer at the pool. granted, with riley's birth we haven't been able to go as often as we would like. we got back in the pool this past saturday, and had a blast with grandma and grandpa j, uncle marc, and doug and jax.


otho and abe are full-fledged swimmers now and can get to anywhere in the pool without floaties. they like to jump in and swim to the bottom to get toys there. they are also great fun at playing marco-polo and other swimming games. their favorite thing, though, is to jump off of the waterfall. here they are jumping after daddy made a giant splash.

ellie has fun with the entire gang too. she clings to mommy and daddy half the time, but is finding her confidence and independence (she can swim from the slide to the edge with her floaties...which is nice since she spends most of her time going down the slide over and over and over and over again).

grandpa holding riley in the shade. it was her first time in the pool (for only a few minutes, and in the shade the entire time. it was a stinking 108 degrees, and there is no way my baby girl will be exposed to that harsh arizona sun). riley was exactly 2 months old in this picture.
