out with the old, in with the new

i love my plymouth voyager. in 2006 we bought this mini-van for a screaming deal. at the time we only had one car, and two kids. we had just moved into our home, and i thought, "heavenly father must be telling us to have more kids, because we have a house to fill and now a car that fits more kids." sure enough, it's now 2009 and we have filled our home to capacity and the car is getting to be a tight fit. 4 kids can do that to a family.


a few weeks ago, my wonderful voyager started acting up. after a trip to the mechanic, an estimate WAY out of our expectations, and more problems than we wanted to deal with, we decided to buy a new car. so, introducing a new addition to the johnson family:

dun du du daaa!

i had no idea what i was missing. now, i'm a mini-van girl through and through. what else could i be? a mini-van was made for a mom like me. but my last car was basic...and i mean basic. this car has more bells and whistles than i know what to do with. first off, it comes with an abe ready to drive the thing (or at least one to change all my buttons and push all the lights).


second, this kia has so much more leg room than the voyager. i must now apologize for anyone who ever sqeezed in the backseat to sit next to otho and abe (this especially includes you, jax and doug). this car has WAY more leg room.


and the last great feature is the stow-and-go for the back seats. they fold flat into the back. the only problem is the boys have learned how to perform this function, and are always flattening my back seats.


as for our voyager, we were able to sell it the day after buying our new car. this whole car buying/selling experience was much easier than i EVER thought possible. so now i wonder what we did for heavenly father to bless us so much? we sure don't feel deserving of such blessings. but we are grateful nonetheless.
