not that you care...but i'm almost half way through the month

and what a long month it's been. ok, not that long, but time just drags on and on when there is no tv to watch.

did you know? i've been going to bed early and i feel wel-rested. i've read tons of books, kept my house clean, doubled my play time with the kids, and feel all-around like a better person. BUT, i am still craving tv. craving tv so much that yesterday, upon waking up tired, i decided to use my cheat day. yes, people, i have one cheat day per month. i spent all day yesterday gorging myself on lame shows. i had a perverbial tummy ache afterward. i felt blah. i ignored my kids, let the house go to pot, didn't exercies at the gym (but don't blame me, it was spin day, and i hate spinning).

the moral of the story: tv bad.

then why do i miss it so much?

as for the no meat thing...after gaining FIVE pounds on a no-meat diet (i'm still mad at you metebolism), i am finally going back down to my original weight. i'm still going strong, and not eating meat. i'm actually enjoying this little goal. we eat more soup (which we love) and ken bbq's more. it's a win-win situation. i think i could go my entire life as a vegetarian. i really do. then again, you will see me chomping down a giant hamburger on february 1st. i kid you not.

and only because you don't care as much as i do (remember, i can't watch tv, so i will be long-winded right now. i really have nothing better to do...ha ha), i will update you on my running goal.

i hate running.

i really do.

it hurts.

it aches.

and i want to die. every step.

ken ran a mile a couple days ago, and said, "that was easy." then last night, he said, "let's run together tomorrow at the gym." i was all for the idea. what better way to acheive my "run two miles in january" goal than with my husband? and the month isn't even half over. it's like getting visiting teaching done early...it leaves you with a warm, i'm-such-a-good-person, fuzzy feeling inside.

oh, one thing, though. i decided that, just for the heck of it, i was going to run each mile as a 10 minute mile. a long-long ten minute mile.

i tried. i reall did. but the pain of it all (and the fact that i really am a wimp), i stopped running. at 1.5 miles. i was almost there. i could see the end in sight, and i lowered my speed and walked.

the saddest part of all - that makes me kick myself in the pants - is that i still finished that darned 2 miles in 21 minutes 35 seconds. i was so close to my goal, and i chickened out.

so here's to running two miles by tomorrow, or maybe the next day...or even the next week. it may just kill me, but gosh darn it, i'll get her done. 2 miles - you will be conqured!

You are awesome for keeping on with your goals! I love soup too, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.

I can't believe you are surviving with no meat... Tyler gave up a long time ago :)

I'm totally running with you TOMORROW! I chickened out on my 3-mile run because I thought 2 should come first. It always goes faster when you're with someone even if we're both gasping for breath! I'll call you every 2 minutes if I don't see you tomorrow morning at the gym. I'm not kidding.
