while brushing ellie's hair today, i asked her to count to ten. she immediately started with, "1...2..." then "10...9...8...7...6...5...11...12...13...14...15..." and so on until she hit 22. while i am impressed that the girl can count so high, i feel a terrible twinge of guilt that she started counting backwards.
see, i am a backwards counter.
to motivate my kids, i count back from 10 or 5. hey, it works. the product, i have just learned, is not only kids who do what they're told in a prescribed amount of time, but also a daughter who counts backwards instead of forwards.
i'm not all a diluted odd mom, though. if i were on facebook today (but i'm not) i would have written this as my status:
MY CLEAN HOUSE SMELLS LIKE FRESH GROUND FLOUR, HOMEMADE BANANA BREAD AND CHICKEN AND RICE SOUP. I'D SAY BOO-YAH, BUT I STILL HAVEN'T SHOWERED. CAN'T HAVE IT ALL.
and that, my friends, is why i am a good mom...that is, until i start counting backwards.
10...9...8...7...6...now go shower, myra, before you stink this sweet smelling house to high heaven.

Hahahaha... Ellie counts backwards - I love it! (And you amaze and sicken me with your domestic skills, my friend. You ground flour and then made bread? Wow.)
you are hilarious!
