beware the ides of march

i meant to write this on the 15th, for my mid-month report, but i felt too ashamed/guilty/bloated to do so.

here's the update for my monthly goals:

pthwwwwaaah (that's me making a loud spitting sound).

i am so not even trying anymore.

1. bread...after one week of no bread i felt like there was a gaping hole in the pit of my stomach reaching up to choke me with it's long fingers of hunger. so i broke my resolve and i have eaten blessed bread ever since. and i don't know if i will ever go back. (oh, and ps, i ate WAY too many m&m's last week, so that i'm-no-longer-addicted-to-chocolate post from earlier this month has died a miserable, albeit delicious, death.

2. those ten seconds of holding a plank are the longest seconds ever. how will i ever make it to a minute? i might keep trying...maybe...like i am still trying to run 3 miles in 30 minutes (which i am, but keep failing).

3. going to bed at 10:30. i actually am not doing half-bad on this goal. i mess up about 25% of the time, or maybe even less. i am much more rested, wake up at 6:30 without an alarm clock, and don't have insomnia anymore. but there are still those tempting snl nights on saturdays that say to me "stay up until weekend update, it'll be worth it. i promise." but guess what? it never is. side note: had an awesome snl dream last night that i was on the show and sweating like crazy. i woke up with too many blankets and i was totally hot. amber...is that still a life-goal to be on snl? if so, don't sweat like i did in my dream. so embarrassing.

so that's my report people. i would say i'd try harder, but with ken working 100% of the time i feel i am treading water, barely keeping my head up most of the time. i'm lucky to get the house clean, pack a few boxes for the move, and keep my sanity these days. but it's all worth it in the end, and if a couple of goals falter in the short run, well hey, it'll all be fine in the long scheme of things. as long as it's not long like a 3 mile run. then i'll be just fine!

Did you know there are ides of every month, it's just because of Ceasar/Shakespeare that everyone talks about the ones in March. Good job Myra, I completely agree that with all the transition your family is going through, now is not the time to cut out bread. All though I must admit I don't think there is every a good time to cut out bread.

Girl, I was impressed that you were starting that goal!!! I cut out bread one time in my life, and it was the most miserable experience of my life!! Besides, I read that if you deprive yourself of bread (when you have been used to eating it) you can actually go a little bit crazy until you get it again - like real life crazy!! So with everything you guys are doing right now - do not feel bad! You are doing great!
