moving day

gosh darn it, i need to post pictures. good news is, we have our stuff. and our computer has internet. and i have a way to put my pictures on my blog. bad news is we have our stuff. and boy is it a lot of stuff. spent all day unpacking, and i have only two rooms done, and they were the easy ones. but i must say we are about 50% done unpacking, and it's a three-day weekend so hooray for us getting to unpack instead of swim or go hiking or spend time remembering those who fought and died for our freedom (we will be remembering all of our grandfathers who fought in the war..don't worry).

for all you phoenix friends out there: i am having a hard time remembering arizona through the vast green-ness around me. it is so breathtakingly beautiful out here in the blue mountains (and yes, they really are blue) that sometimes i forget to drive as i gaze out at the vast rolling mountains cascading by. forget the sweat dripping down my back from the thick haze of humidity that bombards my ever move, forget the bugs that keep biting my exposed skin, and forget the rain that daily makes my back yard a muddy mess...it's worth it for the trees.

and now i must put a plug in for this small-town country living. i feel like i've gone back in time. people are so nice here. when i am waiting to pull out of our neighborhood, the cross-traffic will actually stop and let me in - because they're nice. when the cable guy came to give us internet, he called later in the day to makes sure i got all my stuff and it was working - because people are nice. at ever turn, i am finding that there are nice, welcoming people in this world...and most of them live in small towns. in case you care, we live in a small town named crozet that is half-way between charlottesville and waynesboro va. i highly recommend living here. or visiting. then you can bask in the green, and never want to leave. just like me.

I love your positive thinking amidst the green rolling hills and small town living, even though you may have a bad hair day in there some days. :)

Good luck with the hair! The green is amazing here in Canada too! The flowers too! I enjoyed the link for Crozet and learned about it too! Thanks!

It's good to see you posting again, friend! I'm so happy that you're happy amongst the trees and the grass, in your small town. I'll have to come and see you - after you're done with the unpacking, etc., of course. :-)

I'm so happy that you are in such a wonderful place (everywhere has it's down sides, so I am happy you find the good things instead of focusing on the bugs and humidity) and that you are getting settled! What a great adventure!
