Riley sat in an empty lego box on her birthday and I got this gem of a picture. I love her curly hair, blue eyes, pink toes and glistening lips. She is too cute for words.

We kept Riley's birthday low-key. We still don't know many people out here, and I didn't want to have a party because I am trying to simplify. So we went to a magic/juggling show at the elementary school. Then we went to pick peaches at the nearby orchard, and got ice-cream for lunch. Yes, for lunch. Because in the summer time that's how I roll as a mom. As you can see, Riley really enjoyed her ice-cream.

And the other kids had fun eating their ice-cream too.

I wish Riley could open presents every day. She makes the cutest faces. I don't know why she is folding her arms like she is praying in the bottom-right picture. But it's super cute. Also, notice the cake? We bought a ton of chocolate candy bars and the kids decorated the cake all by themselves. And let me tell you, it was delish. Ken loved that Abe stuffed kit kats down into the cake when he ate a yummy surprise.
We love you sweet Riley, and we are glad you are apart of our family. I hope your sweet spirit never changes.

Oh my goodness gracious, I loved this post! I miss your family, esp Riley's little giggle. Ahhhh... there's nothing like knowing you can make a 2 yr old crack up. I'd ask you to move back, just so I could hear her laugh again, but that sounds a little extreme. I think I'll just have to get over my current crud and then come see you, yes?
Happy Birthday, Riley! (And Abe's a FREAKING GENIUS to stuff a kit-kat into cake. Seriously, that sounds so good!)
Just look at those curls :) She's grown up so fast!!
