birthday party for ellie

ellie had the best first birthday a baby could ask for. after an evening of swimming with daddy, we enjoyed a yummy dinner and then, to top it all off, ellie was given an entire cake to eat. what did she do? nothing. she was the dainty little lady who would barely touch that sugary goodness.
but, she was sure cute in the process.

ellie wanted to play with the icing more than to eat it. when she got any on her hands she would wipe them on the towel instead of put it in her mouth.


this is one of the few moments she was interested in the cake. it didn't last long.


it didn't take me asking them twice (or even once for that matter). when ellie was whisked away for a little cleaning, the three munchkins dug into the cake as though it was their first birthday. in just one second they made more of a mess than ellie did for the 5 minutes she had.
