because i am bored

okay, so i'm in the stinking hospital (and have been for the past 11 hours) and i am in a lot of pain. did you know that it is really boring to be in labor? i should tell this to my daughters to scare them off from ever having kids when they are teenagers, although i think i want kids when they are married, so only healthy doses of fear are allowed. so i have nothing to do, and i already read a magazine, watched a lame movie and surfed more channels than i know what do do with. luckily, the hospital now has wifi, so i can rant and rave on my blog about how much pain this really is and, yes, i am in the worst mood so i told ken to go take a walk so i would stop snapping at him. so i will snap at you, blog-o-sphere. really, who is stupid enough to sit and write on their blog when they are in labor? oh, yeah, that would be me. my contractions are every 1.5 minute and last just as long. i have no idea how far along i am, although at noon (5 hours ago) i was only a 3 and at 60% (all you moms'll understand) and that's when my doctor broke my water. she'll be in to check me before long, and gosh darn it i had better be at least a 5 or call in the epidural. i am sick of this pain and i could use a nap. what i can really use is a big grilled cheese sandwich with thick slices of tomato on sour-dough bread. mmmm. when i had otho up in utah they would feed the meals i was missing to ken. he had some kind of steak for dinner and i was so hungry i just wanted to smell the food and have him describe each flavor to me. i should tell this to my teenage daughters, because no one had ever told me the hunger pains just add to the labor pains.

it's all worth it in the end, right? in a few hours (hopefully) i'll have a sweet little baby girl in my arms. and, if it's anything like my last 3 labors, i immediately forget all of this ucky pain and want another baby right away.

that is, until i read this post and remember what labor is really like.

Wow! I'm pretty sure I never felt like blogging while I was in labor. You are a trooper. Congratulations on your baby girl!

My, that is a SWEET picture! I LOVE IT!

I'm hoping by now that you have a kid. It's been 24 hours, so I figure you MUST.

That having been said - Congrats, and please let me know if I can do anything for you (or if you need a stack of dvd's and/or books) when you get home. :)

Honestly My, you amaze me. I would have never thought to blog while in labor. Maybe because it would go something like this: " I am in pain. OWWWWWWWWWWW, okay that's done, oops, nope, OOOOWWWWWWWWWWW a that one was worse, again... OWWWWWWWWWWWW." There would be no other comments. Remember, she's worth it.
