ellie ann (aka ellian, aka alien)

sometime in the course of the past few months an alien demon has come and taken the place of my perfect little ellie. sure, they look alike...both have beautiful curly hair and an adorable smile and a killer-quick instinct to apologize just at the right moment to make her mother or father melt and do whatever she wants.

but this alien that has come and taken over my daughter, this alien has something different. perhaps it is the way our new "ellie ann" has suddenly taken to tantrums or hitting, or saying no really loud and all defiant-like. or perhaps it's the way this new "ellie ann" won't sleep during nap time or even at night, and always insists on sleeping in mom and dad's bed every morning.

and now i have the proof. see the blue lips. the real ellie would never have used blue marker as lipstick and covered her mouth. but this new ellie, the alien ellie, she not only uses the blue marker as lipstick, but colors half the house with it before her mom notices.

i tell you, people, the aliens are coming to take over the world. first they pose as our children. then they act up, making us super tired. then, our when our defenses are down, they attack.

beware, i say, beware.
