a spooky night at our home

holy guacomole, dudes (as skippy john jones would say) we had a great halloween party. for those of you who didn't come, you missed out on some good ol' scary johnson fun.

when i married ken 6 years ago i was not a fan of halloween. in fact, rewind 7 years ago, and we were good friends, in the same ward (ken desparetely wanted me but doesn't admit to that just yet, maybe in 7 more year he will). i was the activities chair and we threw on the best halloween dance EVER people. everyone, and i mean everyone dressed up...but me (remember - i'm not big on halloween). ken was darth maul with a painted face, and we sat and talked through a slow song, and he never had the nerve to ask me to dance. he will never live that down.

alas, here we are, all these years later, throwing a fun party in our backyard. and i am glad ken has shown me the "light" to how much fun halloween can be. it's the best holiday, he says, because there is candy and no family politics like at christmas (ie, what to get who and how much to spend and where to spend the holiday).

zombie ken with a pumpkin riley.

fairly princesses: shea and ellie.

our friend christine has the magic baby touch. riley was soooo comfy and warm and was perfect all night long (because riley is the perfect baby always).

the winners of our halloween costume contest: mari and mike ashby. they were sister missionaries. you've got me converted to those costumes!

we did something different this year: a caramel apple bar. i think justin cook really enjoyed his caramel apple, eh?

and a few mummy wrap pics:

thanks for everyone who came! we'll be doing it again next year (if we are still here, but let's not think about that right now, because it makes me sad).
