missile and airplane museum

january is a birthday month for ken's family. abe's birthday falls on the 16th, as well as ken's brother rich. and grandpa johnson's birthday is only four days later. to celebrate the men/boys went down to tucson to the missile museum and the airplane museum. man oh man did they have a blast.

otho flying a helicopter.

abe and his cousin cole flying on a plane.

otho learning how to navigate the zillion buttons.

abe and cole in front of sr-71 blackbird

abe getting sucked into an engine (reminds me of the lost pilot, ha ha).

phil, ken, abe, cole and otho in front of the b-17 g flying fortress. ken's grandpa otho flew the b-17 in world war two. we have so many amazing stories from his service in the war. otho, especially, loves hearing the heroic stories from his name-sake.

our brother-in-law doug recently joined the airforce, and he has been assigned to the b-52 rich, ken, otho, abe, and cole posing in front of uncle doug's airplane.

the birthday boys (both born on the 16th) showing off their muscles. i love how abe's looking up at rich.

abe's getting so big! six already. happy birthday abe...and rich...and phil.
