march flouders, brings april powers

march was a failure and a half, and truth be told i do feel really bad that i did so poorly on my goals. i only went to bed by 10:30 half the time (ken's constant traveling did contribute to this), and i gave up bread after a week. but i do want to celebrate that...

1. i went an entire week without flour. whoo-hoo.
2. although i failed at my 10:30 bedtime, i have to admit that i went to bed much more consistently than i normally do.
3. i held a plank for a minute, and boy was it easy. ha, i'm stronger than i thought i was. mind over matter, mind over matter.

and here are my april goals. hopefully i will do better with these goals than last month.

1. no eating after 8:00 pm. also, i am quitting chocolate again. i did so good without chocolate in february, and then march came in like a storm and i was stressed and ken was out of town and i ate way too much chocolate (and gained 5 pounds, grrr). so i am off chocolate again, at least until i drop 5 pounds.

2. only 1 hour of non-essential computer time. this doesn't count looking for a place to rent or schools for our move. or finances. or other important research/writing. it does mean i have to limit my hulu or usatoday or any other time wasters to an hour a day. this, friends, will be hard.

3. swim a mile. hopefully it will take me less than an hour. but the time isn't important, it's really just trying to finish that length. and note, i am a terrible swimmer.

a friend suggested that getting rid of bad habits out of my life is only effective if i replace them with something good, or i will just replace them with something else to waste time. how true this advice is. so i really hope that by limiting my computer-sucking-the-time-from-my-life habit i will read more, and perhaps even start writing again.

my hour for the day is almost up. so long my friends, until tomorrow.

Good job My. We all have set backs, but April is a new month.

Hey Myra, I actually turned to your blog to see how the goals are coming. Bummer about March, hope April is faring a little better.

I'm excited to hear about where you are headed to next. From one who has moved 6 times in the last 3years I know too intimately how stressful moving can be. Granted, most of the moves didn't include our entire lives pocessions, but still - stressful! Good luck!
