sometimes my kids say the funniest things that constantly amaze me and make me laugh all day long.

yesterday abe and otho found a "caterpillar" which was really a rolly-polly bug. by the time i came outside to see the bug, it was "dead." i told abe to put the bug in the grass. he picked up the bug, and suddenly, it came to life!

"mom!" abe screamed, "my caterpillar's still alive. i resurrected it."

then, turning to otho, abe continued, "i have magic super powers because i can resurrect bugs."

otho is obsessed with numbers and money these days, and is constantly badgering me with questions about how much things cost and what time it is.

last week we were running late to something, and otho said, "mom, if we turn the clock backwards, we won't be late anymore."

my kids, like most others, love mcdonalds and are always begging for a happy meal, to which i respond, "they're too much money." last week, since ken was out of town, i thought i'd reward my children's good behavior with a happy meal on friday.

i thought otho would love it and give a little cheer. instead, he looks at me with a quizzical face and said, "is daddy making more money now so we can buy a happy meal?"

the best words out of the mouth of babes comes from ellie, who is just learning to talk. she knows so many words, and constantly amazes us with her expanding vocabulary. unfortunately, living with 3 boys, some of those words aren't as lady-like as they should be. "poop," she says when she has a dirty diaper. "stinky," she says, smelling her stinky feet (darn shoes need to be thrown away the smell is so rancid). but no matter what she says, no matter how vulgar, she will always be a sweetheart to us!
